For AI Agents
AI & Agents Tab
The AI & Agents tab controls how your documentation is discovered and consumed by AI tools, answer engines, and LLM crawlers. Open it from Marketing β SEO, then click the AI & Agents tab.
For Agents Menu
The For Agents toggle shows or hides a For Agents menu button at the top of every documentation page (except the home page) on your public site. When enabled, visitors see a dropdown that lets them:
Turn the toggle off to hide this menu entirely. The toggle saves immediately β no separate Save button is needed on this tab. Only Admins can change this setting.
AI Discovery Resources
Below the toggle, the tab lists four AI-discovery resources that Hyperdocs publishes automatically once your site has a connected custom domain and at least one published page. Each resource shows a live link and a status indicator that confirms whether it is active.
If your custom domain is not yet connected, or no pages have been published, a notice appears explaining what is needed before these resources become active. They are not available on the default Hyperdocs subdomain β a connected custom domain is required.
Per-Page noIndex
Individual documentation pages can be excluded from external search engine indexing without removing them from your site. When the noIndex option is enabled on a page, Hyperdocs sets `robots: index: false` in that page's metadata so crawlers such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo do not index it. The page remains fully visible and linkable on your site β only search engine indexing is suppressed. This setting is configured from the page settings panel inside the editor, not from the global SEO panel.
Canonical Tags
Hyperdocs automatically emits a self-referential canonical tag on every public documentation page when your site is served from a connected custom domain. Canonical tags are not emitted on the default Hyperdocs subdomain. No manual configuration is required β connecting a custom domain from Settings β Domain is the only step needed to activate canonical tags across your entire site.
Plan Requirements
The global SEO panel (meta title, meta description, OG image, scripts, CSS, robots.txt) is accessible to Admins on all plans. The For Agents menu toggle and the AI-discovery resources (llms.txt, llms-full.txt, Markdown output, and sitemap.xml) require a connected custom domain to activate β they do not function on the default Hyperdocs subdomain regardless of plan. Editors and Viewers can view the SEO settings pages but cannot save changes.
